# Pre-Approving Students

Canonical page: https://carecard.ca/knowledge/care-card-guide/program-coordinator/pre-approving-students

If you already have a list of who's enrolling in your program, pre-approve
them so their access request clears the moment they submit it — without
waiting in your manual review queue.

<Callout type="info">
The Pre-Approval page is available only to Program Coordinators — Institution Admins and Campus
Admins don't have access to it.

## The Pre-Approval page [#the-pre-approval-page]

Each row lists a pre-approved person's student number, email, role
(**Student**, **Intern**, or **Volunteer**), institution, campus, program,
term, whether they've been approved yet, and when the row was created.

## Adding pre-approvals [#adding-pre-approvals]

Select **Create Pre-Approvals**, then choose how you want to add people:

* **Create Manually** — add one row at a time, using **Add Another** for
  each additional person.
* **Upload CSV** — select a CSV file to add many people at once. Download a
sample first with **Download Email-Only Sample** or **Download Email and
Student Number Sample** so your file matches the expected columns, then
**Select CSV** and **Upload CSV** to submit it. Use **Replace CSV** if you
  picked the wrong file.

## Removing pre-approvals [#removing-pre-approvals]

Select the rows you no longer need and choose **Delete Selected**. Confirm
in the **Delete Pre-approvals** dialog. Deleting several at once shows a
progress dialog tracking **Total**, **Succeeded**, **Failed**, and
**Cancelled** counts.

## What happens next [#what-happens-next]

When someone on your pre-approved list requests institution access with a
matching email (or student number), their request is approved automatically
— it never appears in your
[Requests](/care-card-guide/program-coordinator/reviewing-requests) queue for
manual review. Everyone else's request still goes through the normal
approve/reject process.
