# Uploading Your Requirements

Canonical page: https://carecard.ca/knowledge/care-card-guide/user-guide/requirements

Once your institution membership is active, the **Requirements** page lists
every document you need to prepare for your placement.

## The Requirements page [#the-requirements-page]

Each row is one requirement — its document name, requirement type, submitted
and expiry dates, and current status.

Select the **+** at the start of a row to expand it. The expanded panel shows
any files already attached, a reviewer comment (if one was left for you), and
the action buttons for that requirement: **Upload New File**, **Attach
Existing**, and **Submit**.

## Upload a document [#upload-a-document]

Select **Upload New File** to open the upload dialog, then choose a file from
your device:

* Accepted file types: PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, TIF, TIFF, GIF, WEBP
* Maximum file size: 25MB per document

If you've already uploaded the file elsewhere in CareCard, select **Attach
Existing** instead and choose it from **My Files** rather than uploading it
again.

## Submit your requirement [#submit-your-requirement]

Once a requirement has at least one attached file, **Submit** becomes
available. Confirm **Submit requirement?** to send it in.

<Callout type="warn">
 Submitting locks the attached files — you can't detach or replace them while the requirement is
 submitted. If you need to make a change afterward, use **Cancel Submission** from the row menu,
 type "cancel" to confirm, and the requirement returns to **Started** so you can attach a different
 file and resubmit.
</Callout>

## Track your requirement status [#track-your-requirement-status]

Each requirement shows one status: **Not Started**, **Started**,
**Submitted**, **Processing**, **Approved**, **Rejected**, **On Hold**,
**Cancelled**, or **Expired**. Approved shows green, Submitted shows blue, and
Rejected or Expired show red so you can scan your list at a glance.

If a reviewer needs something from you about a specific requirement, use the
row's **Message** action to see or reply to their comment.

## After everything is approved [#after-everything-is-approved]

Once every requirement on your list shows **Approved**, visit [Your
Certificate](/care-card-guide/user-guide/certificate) to view and share proof of your
verified status.
