Summary
Vaccines, blood tests and the records that prove them.
These requirements prove you are protected against — and cannot pass on — the infectious diseases you may encounter during your placement. Each one follows the same five-part layout: what it is, what to submit, accepted proof, good to know, and validity.
COVID-19
Proof of your primary series and any boosters your site requires.
Polio
Proof of a completed polio series or immunity shown by a blood test.
Influenza (flu)
Proof of this season's flu shot — a new dose is required each year.
Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis
Proof of an adult Tdap booster covering all three diseases.
Measles, Mumps & Rubella
Proof of two MMR doses or immunity shown by a blood test.
Varicella (chickenpox)
Proof of two varicella doses or immunity shown by a blood test.
Hepatitis B
Proof of the vaccine series plus a blood test confirming immunity.
Tuberculosis Skin Test
A baseline TB screening test — a skin test or blood test, not a vaccine.
Start early: blood tests and missing vaccine doses can take weeks — some series need time between doses. Book appointments as soon as you know your placement date.
